Troop 748 Summer 2005 Events:
- June 13 - Summer Camp talk - what to bring, what to expect.
- June 20 - No troop meeting - Troop is at summer camp.
- Summer Camp - June 19-24, 2005.
- June 27 - High Spirit will run the meeting and man stations which will provide
information about backpacking in anticipation of the two training backpacking trips coming up
this summer. Mr. Sweeney will not be at this meeting. During this meeting (during 'game'),
scouts working on the Emergency Preparedness Merit Badge will meet with Mr. Rimmey and some
scouts who have already earned this badge to develop the Troop Mobilization plan to be used
on July 18.
- July 11 - Citizenship presentation for First Class Requirement #5 by Mr. Pfiffner.
Additional information on flag and uniform etiquette will follow with input from Mr. Ehler.
- Next Troop Committee Meeting- July 14, 2005 at the Dreesen home, 7:30pm.
- July 18 - Troop must meet off site. The troop will participate in a mock troop
mobilization led by scouts working on the Emergency Preparedness Merit Badge on Green
Mountain. All scouts are to arrive at the "Hayden Park Green Mountain Trailhead" on Alameda
Pkwy at Florida Drive at 7:00 p.m. There is a sign in both directions directing drivers to
the parking area. Bring the 10 essentials, hiking shoes/boots and wear long pants. There
will be no advancement at this meeting. Scribes need to bring an attendance sheet.
- July 19 through August 3: Jamboree. Several scouts and adults will attend.
- July 25 - Each patrol will construct a shelter using a tarp, ropes and poles. Patrol
leaders are asked to acquire a tarp. If they are not able to obtain one, contact
Quartermaster Cody K. The Quartermaster will provide rope and poles. Sinjin and the
organizing patrol, Pine Trees, will have water balloons at the ready to test the shelters.
- August 1 - Bike Ride at Matthew Winters Park. Wolverine PL Matt S. will contact
adults to be sure we have enough adult coverage.

If you have pictures of Troop 748 activities (including patrol
activities) or even descriptions of activities and can send them via
email, please email the photos, and descriptions to:
rnclark@qwest.net. You could
also hand me a floppy/zip/CD at a meeting (I can return your disks if
you need them back). Images are best in jpeg format, but if you can't
do that, any format will do. Descriptions are best in simple ascii, or
html; I can also read wordperfect. If emailing, please use a descriptive
title that includes Troop 748. If you have a lot of photos and
can do ftp, send me an email and I'll send instructions on where to
upload.
